Meet Laura

Laura Missiha has over 25 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including a children’s ICU, a women's health physical therapy clinic, as well as in the hospital with women on antepartum bed rest. Laura enjoys working with adults, infants, and children of all ages and is skilled in supporting complex medical issues with high quality, customized massage therapy. She has the ability to adapt to the unique needs and circumstances of mothers and babies during pregnancy and postpartum. Additionally, Laura has supported families through hospice and palliative care with massage therapy for adults and children and is highly skilled in attending to the changing needs in unique medical situations. She offers post-surgical massage at the bedside in hospitals and in-home.

I am passionate about supporting and empowering my clients with ways to care for themselves to encourage healthy early bonding with your children through touch and connection. With so many years of experience as a massage therapist, I’ve come to realize that I enjoy the challenge of unique situations and using my intuition and clinical experience to problem solve with my clients of all ages and circumstances. I have discovered that taking care of myself is one of the best things I can do as a mom. I believe in getting regular bodywork myself and truly feel this is what has allowed me to have such a long and fulfilling career as a massage therapist. I also believe in the importance of modeling self-care for my daughter because as women we tend to put ourselves last. It lights me up when I can work with mothers and families and visibly see the impact of nurturing touch with them.”
